Life science companies looking to explore the possibility of doing business in Northeast Ohio can meet leaders from the City of Mentor and senior businesspeople from a number of US companies on April 1-2, as an international trade delegation is visiting the Med-Tech Innovation (MTI) Expo and Conference, at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.

The Mentor Delegation will visit the MTI Expo and Conference on April 1 & 2, to explore the international trade and collaboration opportunities available for life science companies in the East and West Midlands.

In August 2018, Medilink Midlands and the City of Mentor announced a strategic partnership to promote trade and investment between the two regions. In October 2018, this led to a successful Medilink Midlands trade mission to the City of Mentor and the Cleveland Clinic Innovation Summit. As part of the growing relationship between the two regions, a reciprocal offer was made for a delegation from Mentor to visit the UK in May 2019 and a second UK trade mission took place in October 2019.

The City of Mentor, in Northeast Ohio, is a 20-minute drive from downtown Cleveland. Mentor is becoming a focal point for the Northeast Ohio cluster of over 700 biomedical companies, including over 400 medical device manufacturers specialising in imaging, neuro-stimulation, orthopaedics, cardiovascular, and sterilization. Among these are world leaders such as General Electric Healthcare, Siemens, Toshiba, Hitachi, Philips Healthcare, and STERIS. STERIS Corporation was founded in Mentor in 1985. Other top Mentor biomedical companies include Volk Optical, Frantz Medical Group, SourceOne Merry X-Ray Corporation, and Integrated Medical Solutions.

Northeast Ohio is also home to internationally recognized clinical research institutions, including the prestigious Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals and Case Western Reserve University, providing Mentor biomedical and med-tech companies with a world-class platform for research, design, and innovation.

Mentor has a number of key benefits for life science companies looking to set up a base for operations in the USA. Manufacturing costs are low, the region has a stable and experienced workforce and the local government is pro-business and committed to ensuring the continued economic success of the city. The Mentor team and the companies which will be attending with them will be available to meet with companies who are interested in doing business in Northeast Ohio and establishing a business in the region.

To register your interest in meeting with the Mentor delegation, please email [email protected], indicating what you would like to discuss with them.
